In the occasion of 2017 Beyond Frozen Point Film Festival, the Norwegian Consulate General Shanghai, the Norwegian Seafood Council, and NorAlumni China will co-organize TASTE NORWAY, the Norwegian documentary Tongue Cutters screening with a seafood buffet dinner reception, on December 4th, at Shanghai Film Museum. A live demonstration of Norwegian fish processing will be provided by the Norwegian Seafood Council.
To bring together all alumni and promote NTNU’s strategic focus on China, on December 6th, 2017, NTNU Alumni China will be inaugurated in Shanghai. The event will consist of two parts: seminar with a panel discussion and a cocktail party. We will have representatives from NTNU to present the university’s development and future plans, in addition to alumni sharing from their professional experiences, industry highlights and best practices of Sino-Norwegian cooperation. Afterwards, there will be plenty of opportunities to mingle, reconnect and enlarge your personal network.

On Thursday 6th of July, NorAlumni China hosted a group of 32 bachelor students and their teachers from Hubei Normal University. The event was co-hosted with the China- EU-Industrial and Commercial Investment Promotion Union (ECIPU), and was a part of four day trip the students had to Beijing to learn about how different countries innovate.
Five presentations were given by staff at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing and Innovation Norway; Ms Qu Lie, Senior Officer Energy and Environment at Innovation Norway, Ms. Yongfang Zhang, Science and Education Officer at the Royal Norwegian Embassy; Ms. Linn C. Roodla, Political Officer at the Royal Norwegian Embassy; Mr. Chris Jørgen K. Rødland, Trainee at the Royal Norwegian Embassy; and Ms. Mimi Cathrine Lie, intern at Innovation Norway. The topics ranged from explaining how the Norwegian higher education system differs from the Chinese educational system to discussing famous Norwegian polar explorers and their discoveries.
After the presentations the students had the opportunity to ask questions about Norway and what job and study opportunities they could have in Norway.
