Looking for something fun to do in Beijing?
As an international student or an expat in Beijing it can be hard to find out about events, festivities or just where to go for a good meal if one doesn’t speak Chinese. A good tip could be to look at The Beijinger– an English online/print newsmagazine directed at Beijing’s international community. On The Beijinger you can find recommendations for restaurants and bars, an overview of current and planned events, as well as a “visitors’ guide” dedicated to provide useful tips to international newcomers in Beijing. For those of you with children, The Beijinger also has its own magazine directed at expat children in Beijing.
Time Out Beijing is another online newsmagazine in English targeted at the expat and international student communities. Time Out Beijing provides an overview and recommendations of events; theatres, music gigs and sport events, restaurants, bars and other things to do in Beijing. One can even buy tickets to certain events on the website. Time Out Beijing also has a section dedicated to tourists visiting Beijing with recommendations on where to stay, what markets and shops to go to, where to eat, and what to see.
